My musical involvement over the past three years varies. For a couple of years, I've been taking vocal lessons with Dr. Joan Metelli as well as with the Ballantyne School of Music. In high school, I took part in the chorus and I was also very active in the musicals that the theater department held every spring semester. I was also involved in a music program at Ballantyne School of Music, called "Jam Sessions", where kids of ages 12-18 get together in bands and perform, at the end of a twelve week session, at live venues in the Charlotte, NC area. Lastly, during my spring semesters of high school, I volunteered at a refugee center to sing and play guitar to the underprivileged children there.

I was the lead vocalist for a few bands at the Ballantyne School of Music. I also earned the lead role of Fiona in Shrek the Musical at my high school. I also solely sang to refugee children at the local refugee center. We would sing popular songs together and it was truly wonderful the way that music connected us.

I have been in chorus every year since first grade, and in high school I am currently singing in the highest auditioned choir. In 2013, I was selected from my high school chorus to sing at All-State. My chorus participates in Singing Valentines, a fundraiser where students split into small groups and mash-up and compose songs to perform for classmates. Also, I have volunteered at Crabtree Valley Rehab Center and preformed solo pieces for the residents. I casually play guitar and ukulele, and enjoy singing with my friends.
